Lisa Tauroa

Ko tō mātou kuia, a Keriata Hunia Tukukino, he mokopuna nō te rangatira nui a Tukukino Te Ahiātaewa.
Lisa is currently undertaking a Master of Māori and Indigenous Leadership at the University of Canterbury. Her thesis examines the impacts of disrupted intergenerational knowledge transfer and identifies contemporary pathways for healing, reconnection, and revitalisation.
Her research and leadership are grounded in restoring and uplifting mātauranga for future generations. She works with dedication and humility to enhance the wellbeing and mana of her people.
Lisa has extensive experience in local government and serves on both the Te Korowai o Waiheke Trust and the Tiaki Repo ki Pūkorokoro Trust. Both trusts are focused on environmental restoration. She also serves as Chairperson on two ahu whenua trusts in Hauraki — Te Komata and Te Awaiti — supporting whenua Māori management and shareholder engagement.
